Infant feeding, whether at the breast, bottle, or with solids, can be significantly impacted by tightness, discomfort, or weakness in your baby’s mouth and body. If feeding difficulties arise, a deeper evaluation may be necessary. Issues with suckling, swallowing, eating, and range of motion in the body can stem from positional abnormalities in utero or result from labor and birth trauma.

I will assess your baby’s entire body to explore any connections between posture, muscle tone, reflexes, and feeding challenges. This includes evaluating movement patterns, muscle tone, and specific conditions such as plagiocephaly, torticollis, jaw function, tongue mobility, palate structure, oral tone, and suck patterns.

Based on my findings, I will develop a personalized plan to address areas of concern. I will work with your baby to provide targeted treatment—similar to physical therapy—aimed at improving oral tightness or weakness. Treatment options may include stretches, oral massage (such as for the cheeks, under the tongue, and/or lips), and specific sucking exercises.

Relax, baby is a workshop for you, as parents, to learn about CFT (Craniosacral Fascial Therapy) and to practice these techniques on your babies!  You will learn massage techniques that will aid breastfeeding difficulties, symptoms of colic, fussiness, sleep problems, body tension and suspected discomfort, oral tightness, gas, and digestive discomfort.  Bring your baby to class and prepare to be impressed with the differences you see once you begin using these simple techniques on your baby.
